So how are all of us doing in this first big storm?

It really came down quick at first. In Agawam we received 6" in 3 hours before it started mixing with sleet. It took me 1.25 hours to get to work to start plowing. It usually take 20 minutes.

It is a very heavy wet snow....but it scrapes easily so clean-up is easy with the plow......shoveling is a bear.

My new 09' F-350 is officially a work truck now!

I have had enough white crap already..

 

Mike...you seem to be perversely pleased by the white crap...my understanding is that your health insurance will cover therapy sessions in order to help you get over it!!!

I love storms that start at dawn and are over by noon. My crew and I work and normal day. Those wind driven, cold, nor'easters are different story all together. Working 24 hours straight is no fun......no matter who you are.

Plus, I don't make money when I plow. Joys of being salaried.

 

I hear you...I don't make any money unless I'm selling something. White crap days mean no traffic...mean...no sales...means...no $$$.

That's why I get a bit grumpy when it falls!!!

About done with all this white stuff..

I got about cr@p done today for what I get payed to do.

Went to start the Toyota and no-go. Ok so I flooded it out. Let it sit 1/2 hour. Went back at it and preceded to kill the battery. Put batter on charger.

Started the Ranger and got in a better mood. Plowed the Ranger through the 2 foot wind row and did AWD fishtails up the road. Playedb a little more in and out of 4x4 mode. Drove to parts store and got $50 worth of Toyota parts. Drove through virgin snow to out back where the Toyota was. Replaced parts and Toyota started within 1 second of turning the key. Preceded to plow the driveway, road to back yard, 80year old neighbor's 2 foot wind row, mailboxes ect. All said and done I plowed for about 1.5-2 hours. Than I got about 10 minutes of snow blowing in before the snow blower ran out of gas and I had no more. Was about 2:45 by the time I called it a day.

Than after driving to the girlfriends house I got a chance to shovel....
Why don't the guys that get payed to plow know how to plow the proper way? It's like if they have to angle the plow at all they will just leave it. Well this guy that plows the girlfriends house anyway.

 

Dan, there are some guys that have no clue about how to plow..

They think you just drop the plow and go.. They do not look at the area to see what is the best way to do it..

 

I put up a 1 car tent similar to mine and the guy did not attempt to plow in front of it thus leaving both garage doors unplowed thus leaving an unpaved section 2+ cars wide and 1+ car long and the 6 or so inches deep + the rain......

He has also yet to come back to do his second and final pass. I left him a nice pile in the middle of the driveway from what I had to shovel.

Oh ya... This guy has plowed the driveway for a few years. The tent was a surprise though.
