Im going to be helping someone with a cab swab- they have a trashed '61 that we want to put a '60 body onto. Has anyone done this swap?

Are the steering columns similar?
Body mounts?
E-brake?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Don't recall seeing that question here before, I suspect the chassis are the same. That was about the time Ford experimented with the Unibody.

You can find out a lot about these ol trucks with a 25ft measuring tape. I suggest that you and your friend take some measurements and the answers will be there for you.

1960 vs 1961 are as different as night and day, as the entire truck changed in 1961, except for the powertrain.

Different frames, sheet metal, steering columns, body mounts, none of the emergency brake parts are the same.

1957/60 is the same, but after 1960...it's a whole new ball game.

well my 59 is going to be sitting on a 61 frame with 63 axels so yea it can be done. the frames are the same width so i took the mounts of the 59 frame and put them on the 61 frame. im not done yet but when i mocked it up it seemed to fit fine.

Thanks for the info about that. Hey, do you have any pics of the mods?
