4.6 3 valve reviews

Hey guys, Im looking at buying a new truck and was wondering if anyone has any reports or opinions on the new 4.6 3v engine. Will it have problems for a while like the 5.4 3valve did as in the spark plug issue. Also anyone know how long its been out.I had a 4.6 in 1997 and it was great.

I think 2005..?
You know they put it in the GT Mustang, you know some kids run the chit out of them.
Here's what I've owned s for modular motors,
1997 4V 4.6 Cobra
1997 2V 4.6 Grand Marquis
1999 2V V10 Super Duty
2001 2V 5.4 F150
2007 3V V10 Super Duty
2008 3V 4.6 Bullitt Mustang.... current
2009 2V 4.6 F150....current
Never had anything go wrong with any of them!
For the most part I think it's safe to say their bullet prof !!

The 05 mustangs where the first to get the 4.6 3v
then the 06 Explorers and Mountaineers
07 was the first year in the F150's

The spark plug issue never real showed up on the 4.6 3v
Besides the head and plug design changed in Oct. of 07 to use a conventional spark plug on all the 3v engines.

The 5.0's are going to be out within a year, it'll be worth the wait. The most recent truck trend did a small feature on the 5.0L Coyote and they're reporting numbers close to 400HP / 400TQ.
