Computer Location
Ive got a 1995 f-150 5.0L 5-speed extended cab.
The PO told me that the PO from him put a HO Mustang engine in it (in mexico)
i want to see if the computer is a mustang computer or the stock truck computer (i will also see if the block is a mustang block or not)
now i belive the computer is behind the drivers side kick panel so while i was doing some subwoofer wireing i took the kickpanel off and met a 1/4 in thick plate of steel that the e-brake ataches too, and it looks like it goes all the way from the floor to a metal piece under the dash next to the steering colum.
there was about an inch gap at the bottom so i looked up and i thought i saw the side of the computer
ive been scouring FFI website but i cant find anything on it so any help would be apreciated

Yes the computer is on the drivers side & comes out from under the hood . The HO will run on either computer . Your 95 is a roller motor so the only difference in the motor will be the cam & depending on the year of HO it will have forged pistons . The block , crank & heads will be the same ... Lew

First of all thanks for the quick replies u 2
second, ive done alot of research on the HO line of engines and i had read that FORD made 2 or 3 different versions of the HO.
2 were for mustangs (forged or cast pistons like u said lew) and one for trucks which had flat tappet cams for more torqe. (of course this could be wrong)
There are 3 reasons why i want to check
1. The truck will surge under par-throttle it's not much but its enough to be annoying.
2.The truck will not idle right After its warmed up it will idle for 30 sec to a minute at 700 rpm but for no reason it will go up to 850 or even a 1000 RPM and hold there, but if i bump the throttle it will go back down to 700 for awhile
(i have replace the TPS and IAC and it seemed to help a little with both above problems)
3.Suposidly(sp?) the motor was swapped at about 160k and for some reason the person doing it put the original 1995 Spark plug wires on it.
And the plugs looked pretty old too but the cap and rotor looked newer. (tune-up done at 210k)
which that makes me suspicious of an engine swap at all exept for the fact that at 212k its the best sounding engine i have ever driven (thats not sayin much though)

The 94 & up 302s are roller motors so they have the same firing order as the 351 & HO , Remove the bolt & nuts that hold the harness on and hold the computer in & slide it out , its a tight fit but it will come out , you may have to remove some of the screws that hold the fender well in or just press down on it to get the room you need ...

ya i just went out to look and i saw the harness with the bolts that go into the firewall.
i just ran a code test and here's what i got
KOEO: 111
CM: 111
KOER: 111 (WOT test was preformed)
my book says most 1992 and up fords use 3 digit codes and the only mustang computers that use SD are from the mid-late 80's
so my computer is most likely the original, but im gonna check anyway
