Question How hard is it to change a power steering pump?

Hey my power steering pump might be on its last legs. I was jut wondering how much of a pain in the *** it would be to change it and what kind of cost i would be looking at. My truck is a 1996 F-150 2wd regular cab short bed, with the inline 6.

Good time to upgrade to the saginaw style pump. Won't cost anymore and much better.

on my 90 I had to rent the pulley puller when I changed mine out -wasn't hard at all
oh and I had to change the connections where the hoses connected-I opted for a junk yard model -hook ups were different-leaked pretty bad till I changed out the fittings for the old ones off my original
good luck

not hard can be done with a metric set of wrenches and a pulley puller/installer mine cost about $40.00. Some pumps come with the resevoir already installed, some you have to put your old one on.
