yeah well bro, i dont share your situation. I will just take to the old one to lordco or ford and get them that way. Damn this sucks, couldnt believe the wobble in the rear end though, wasnt until i put it in full neutral that i found out the problem. The front one is good to go but i want it off regardless. Problem is it doesnt have the u bolt on it, all sides are the lock ring, how the heck do i get that out, i wouldnt think pounding that one out would be a good idea, but hey, i am contstantly surprised. Anyone with a normal regular truck want to trade? hahahaha

the t-case end should be a slip yoke. unbolt the shaft at the rear and slide the shaft out of the tcase off the splined shaft.

If you don't have U bolts or bolts and straps, you must have the slip yoke transfer case.

With the extended cab, is your drive shaft one piece or two?

Most extended cabs have a two piece driveshaft, three U joints and a carrier bearing for the rear shaft.

I have the slip yoke but it is a single shaft. The original truck was a long bed reg cab so that is why the regular bed extra cab fit right on. This u joint thing is really pissing me off. always something!

The problem with parts places these days is computers.

If the part is not in the computer, it can't possibly be on your truck.

Then when you change parts from different years and models, things get real interesting fast.

Went in today and had an awesome manager literally find a custom one that was exact, okay well off by .0001 aaaahhhh it'll never work hahaha. I dont get the whole computer thing. Whatever.

So the problem, ubolt had loosened slightly that allowed it to slack and wobble, well it worsened. Wore the lip of the yoke down about 1/8inch and so i cleaned the yoke off really good, used my dremel to rough up the area, applied jbweld, let it sit for 10 or so hours, tested the strength and i could hammer it so it is on good, dremeled it to match original and installed the new ujoint. It is solid now with no wobble and good. I couldnt re install the speedi sleeve but on the test drive it is perfect, no wobble, vibration or anything. There are also no marks on the yoke to show the need for it, either way i will keep an eye on it and see what happens. Might need to reinstall one but they are easy and cheap according to a kickass shop up near me. Thanks for the help bros!

Glad that all worked out for you, and really glad you found the U joint before you were sitting on the side of the road.

Bad thing with the slip joint at the transfer case is you can't just unbolt the rear drive shaft and drive on the front shaft unless you have something to block the hole and keep the transfer case lube in.

I can't count how many times I have limped to the parts store or home on front wheel drive only.

i remember well, i had a 49 ****** pickup that i had to do that with one time. How many quarts of ATF go in the BW 1356? I think it is two and what is the specific type? If lordco couldnt narrow down the right u joint without pulling a dinosaur of a manager out of the back room i dont have a lot of confidence in their decisions, or computers decisions rather!
