That's more than double the HP mine has, but my torque is still pretty good at 270lb/ft.

I am really hoping that they are holding this thing back. I think only 411 hp is a little depressing. I was hoping it would have been closer to 500. I thought this truck was supported to be "high performance."

Not being an ****, but do you really know how much HP 500 is? That is A LOT of power especially for what the raptor costs.

Im not saying its not cheep. I would buy one in a heart beat if i had the cash. Just i have a supercharged 05 Screw f150 and i am super disappointed on how slow the 420ish hp it has is.(mods are planned to make it closer to 500 before it is rebuilt). Just with .8 more liters and it being developed with SVT i was just expecting more. The raptor r had a estimated 500 with minor changes. I was thinking the normal raptor would be 475ish. But this may also be reminiscent of the muscle cars having underestimated power numbers for insurance and various other reasons. No offense taken, I can understand what you are saying.

And to think I was blown away by my new truck having 360HP and thats at about 7500 lbs. What was I thinkin My other two trucks are 210HP(F150) and 156HP(bronco). I'm sure it would be fun if I had a desert race course nearby though.

I would love to see a screw with 6.5 ft bed but would settle for scab 6.5 ft bed. 411 hp is plenty for a half ton.

400hp or more in any of todays 1/2ton pickup is asking for reliabllity and longivity issues. These motors aren't even displacing 400cubes and we're asking for 1+hp per cubic in of displacement, and if you're wanting to get 300,000+ miles out of that motor while beating the **** out it (like what the raptor is going to see), you better be made of money to afford the $10,000+ engine and tranny upgrade.

i have an 08 and while yes its the lowest rated in terms of hp, i could care less as i can set the cruise at 75 while pulling 7,000lbs worth of race truck, trailer and tools, and that is pretty frickin good.

Having 411hp will make the raptor one heck of a truck (hell thats even more than the gen 2 lightnings), but only 434ftlbs of tq, that is disappointing, they should of aimed for V10 tq levels if they wanted a true powerhouse of a motor (or just used the V10 )

Ecoboost Raptor

My dad just got his senior masters for ford and we spent last week in detroit right by the proving grounds and they were testing how well the ecoboost technology did on the new 6.2L, but they would be way greater than 500 horse. i hope they produce something like that even if it were only for a superduty...

You are right...411 hp is a joke for a high performance truck, the low torque numbers is the real killer though. My 1/2 ton Dodge has 500hp and 525 tq stock and is not overpowered by any means.

IMO...those are fantastic numbers! Especially for a 1/2 ton truck...

I like to think of my V10 having 310hp and 425 ft/lbs...and it does all I need it to do. Having the 6.2L V8 numbers in a lighter truck...is going to be great!

Don't get me wrong I hate dodge but you have a very impressive line up. It sounds like all of them would be awesome to have.

If nothing else they should have a special SVT 6.2 for the raptor that has 500+hp but keep the 411hp 6.2 for the rest of the models. Think of it as the gt500 to mustang as the raptor should be to the f150. But i suppose it doesn't really matter what i think unless i am behind the dest at ford HQ.

i think the new raptors are awesome. of course the motor is held back a little bit. if you fully built the motor for nothing but high performance then sold it on the public market to anyone with some change in their pocket, you would have blown motors and shot trannys all over the place. a lot of people dont know how to treat a high performance motor(not saying everyone). they think "its made for this, ill just floor it everywhere i go!" 411hp/434 lb-ft is very impressive for a stock truck. the fastest stock ford truck (lightning) only has 380 hp and 450 lb-ft.
