how to Change a door ajar switch

How do you change out the door ajar switch on a 2004 F350 extended cab? Drivers door. I have tried to WD40 trick with no luck. Thanks for the tips for that. Would anyone have laid out instructions on how to remove and install the new switch.

Thanks

The switch is installed in the door latch assembly inside of both front doors. It actually comes out with a quarter turn and disconnecting the wire harness. There isn't really anything to keep it from coming out without removing the latch assembly from the door, but I couldn't get a good enough grip on the switch to turn it out. It is in a weird spot at an angle off of the latch so you have to contort your arm up inside the door. The latches aren't hard to remove, it is just a PITA to work inside the door. I don't remember the switches themselves being very expensive. I replaced mine about two years ago and have not had a problem with the door ajar light since.

Thanks for the help. Got the new switch for $15 and had it changed out in 20min. Go figure the dealership ship was going to charge $100(estimated) of course. Yeah right. Anyway thanks for the help.
Gotta love FTE

No problem. Your arms must be more limber than mine, I couldn't get the switch out without pulling the latches!

I have a 98 F150 XLT super cab Heritage. 3door issue w wiring harness

switch is installed in door latch assembly inside both front doors. It is weird I replaced harness and have problem with pass door ajar wiring has 2 door ajar connectors whereas my original Door only has 1 connector with 1 DoorAjar
i’m not an expert when it comes to wiring/electrical and have a harness that has 2 door ajar connectors, and my originally has ajar connector
so my question
how do I disconnect 1 of 2 connectors? or try to install 2 door ajar switches for passenger door
I’m not experienced in electrical if I need to provide photos, please feel free to reply, and I will certainly take photos of what I have because I have them removed the majority of the electrical tape on the harness. Thank you.
