i was doing my monthly check of my fluids and took a close look at my antifreeze

its the orange stuff that makes the NASTY brown sludge YUCK!
now whats it supposed to have... green? the nasty orange? how can i get my system cleaned of the gunk.

 

DO NOT MIX COOLANT TYPES. USE ONLY THE TYPE OF COOLANT WITH WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED.
Your truck is to use;
Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant or equivalent
meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B51-A1.

Do not add/mix an orange-colored, extended life coolant such
as Motorcraft Specialty Orange Engine Coolant, meeting Ford
specification WSS-M97B44-D, or DEX-COOL brand with the
factory-filled coolant. Mixing Motorcraft Specialty Orange Engine
Coolant or any orange-colored extended life product such as
DEX-COOL brand with your factory filled coolant can result in
degraded corrosion protection.

 

Flush it and put in Prestone or Peak with DI water, at 50/50 and you'll be fine.

 

If the antifreeze has sludge in it. I'd drain the system down and refill it with new antifreeze.

There are antifreezes on the market that you can mix with anything and that are a 50/50 blend, just look at the labels at the parts store.

That orange stuff was the worst ever.

 

yea i dont know why they even sell it...

i just want ALL of that sludge gone...

 

Flush entire system thoroughly then refill with something good like Prestone 50/50. In my Volvos, I even go as far as to mix the antifreeze with distilled water because tap water contains alot of minerals that down the line will eat away at the aluminum motors. Its not mandatory, But some of my friends on other forumns do it just as an extra precaution.

 

I'm a green stuff every 2 years kind of guy.

 

I had my cooling system flushed yesterday at the dealership. I requested motorcraft premium gold but the reservoir is now filled with a green mixture. Is there a new Motorcraft premium gold with bittering agent thats green?
