i've been playing with this thing for hours and nothing i've read its on the passanger side , i've read its on the drivers side....i can't even see the mark i put on the balancer that is marked 10 degrees. i did find however that the harness going to the distributor the wires were exposed and touching so i'll go to the junk yard in the a.m. and get a new harness and start over.

the timing tab should be right by the crank pulley. at first i couldnt read mine so what i did is spray the hell out of it with some brake kleen, gave it a lil scrub(easier to do from under the truck), and another shot of brake kleen, and then a shot of compressed air and it showed up like new. there was just so much crudd built up on it over the years... if you wana try to give your truck a lil extra pickup, set that timing at 12 deg. i was suprised with the difference when i did it to mine..
