I just replaced my turn signal bulbs with LED replacements and when I actuvate my turn signal it blinks very fast.
I think if I upgrade my turn signal relay to a heavy duty or electronic it should do the trick and slow things down.

I looked in my manual and could not find the location. Has anyone replaced their relay/ And if so where is it located? Or any pics would be great.

The blink speed is a common problem when going to LED bulbs - it's due to different resistor values of the bulbs. I had looked into doing this on a different car and bookmarked this site: Tail light and Turn Signal LED Bulbs Fix

Well, I installed a Napa heavy duty relay part# EP-27 and I still have the same problem.
As far as it's location....it's in a pretty chitty spot. Under the dash right of the fuse panel near the small storage compartment.
Any other ideas?

Load resistors are a fire hazards, because they get VERY HOT.
It is like installing a Toaster to solve a simple flash problem…..

It's not like these resistors have a load going through them at all times so heat doesn't really get a chance to build up - unless you left your hazards on - maybe that would build up a bit.

 

Good info guys. Thx. I just noticed this morning that when I use my 4 way hazard button they blink at a normal speed. But when I use only the left and right they blink Very fast. Does the 4 way use a different relay?

If I have to install an inline resistor I will....but for now I'd like to find a simple push in relay/flasher.

dvldog, when i made my taillights using the 4" round tractor trailer led lights, i used the load resistors. i have had mine inside the rear taillight housing for about 2 years now. no problems.

I went ahead and purchased the LED flasher relay fix (link above) and it works perfect. I just pushed the new relay in and it was good to go!

 

I know this link has not been active in awhile, but can someone please tell me, with some specificity, where the darn flasher is. call me stupid, but i cannot find it. i have the fuse panel off, turn on the hazard button, can hear it, but just can't locate it? thanks very much!

 

your flasher relay is easy to find. if look at the bottom of the dash below the radio, you will notice that the panel comes apart. it has four screws this panel is part of your cup holder and ash tray .once thats down and out of your way, look in the dash and its right in front of you. in side of a black box. remove black cover by prying it open its the blue relay in side.

 

I need to replace mine. Does anyone have a photo of where this is??

 

The easiest way to find it is to turn the flasher or blinker on and stick your hand under the dash where the radio is, and there is a black box, just keep grabbing things with your hand and you will feel the thing ticking, it's in the most stupidest place I've ever seen a flasher.
