Fuel Injection Control Module

I have a 2004 F250 6.0l. I had to take it in to the ford dealership to get diagnosed and they said that my ficm was fried. My truck is not displaying any codes on the display. Could the problem also be maybe chafing on the wiring harness? I been doing some research and apparently alot of time the ficm is misdiagnosed. I would think that i would of at least got some kind of error code or check engine light. What do you think?

Ok thanks, did you have it replaced at a dealership or do it yourself?

dont forget... it wasnt that i had bad batteries... they checked them always after they had the hood up all day or sometimes 2, then batteries tested fine..

IT WAS the alternator that was faulty the whole time ... sometimes it would charge and then quit leving my bateries on there own then when i go to start.. usually in the winter .. click..click then i would curse like a sailor and in the shop again till it was figured aternator

good luck to all

When my FICM went....it threw several DTCs...basically each injector was effected (with its own DTC), and a couple of general DTCs as well. But, it did occur just after diagnosing bad batteries and replacing them. I often wonder why I shouldn't just plug her in each night to a battery tender.

Spare/Loaner FICM??

Does anyone on here have or know anyone that has a spare "loaner" FICM that I could use to see if that's what's wrong with my truck?

I know it's a lot to ask but I'm a trustworthy individual and certainly wouldn't hose anyone on here (unless she was real good-lookin' ) - I pulled my EGR valve today to clean it and sprayed a bunch of carb. cleaner down in the intake, started the truck without the EGR valve in, ran it up in the RPMS a few times to blow the gunk out and it shut off, just plain shut off.

I explained on another thread that I have been troubleshooting an issue whereas I am low on power here lately, not real low but a noticeable loss. I can still tow my 8,000lb race trailer, etc.

Well, now it's DEAD, won't start at all, can hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key on like normal, fuel in the filter bowl, etc.

If anyone has any suggestions I'm listening - I have a race trip next Friday and I'm not too close to a dealership...nor would I have the serious $$$$$$$$ to pay them to change a FICM out on a whim.

I'd like to know it's what is causing the no-start condition before shelling out the big bucks.

they don't always run without the egr valve istalled, my 05 will if its hot, but not if its cool. Try installing the valve and see what happens

You just can't install a ficm and start it up, each ficm needs to be reflashed or reprogrammed to each specific vehicle.
