My local dealer has an Orange one on their showroom floor.

MSRP is $37K and some change. After their market price adjustment it is now listed at $46K.

When we first started discussing the Raptor many months ago, I said there would be dealers that will utilize regional upcharges or simply charge what they feel the market will bear.

The shame of it is, someone will pay it paving the way for more gouging.

My local dealer also has one but I didn't stop in and look. The same dealer has a 2009 Mustang GT 500KR that they were trying to sell for $78k. They just lowered the price to $74k. Very generous.

You think that's bad for the GT500KR. My local dealer is asking $115,255 for a 2009, and $77,858 for a 2008.

i must be lucky my dealer sells them at sticker..and the main reason is they don't want to get stuck with them after the model year is over

but if they add wheels or somthing small they charge 5x what you could buy it for

My Ford dealer did the Same thing with the GT500 Mustangs. For an 08 when they were new, $20K market adjustment. Even had a leftover 07 at the time and had $15K mark-up on it.
Then there was the Ford GT. $56K mark-up on those.
My local Dodge dealer has a beautiful Black Challenger SRT8 6-speed on the showroom with only a $7K mark-up.
I can't believe with the economy the way that it is and how crappy auto sales are, that Ford would allow them to do that. They will lose many sales from smart people that will not pay that ridiculous mark-up.

There are two dealers in Phoenix doing the same thing for the KR's. There is another one that has 2008 Rouch Mustangs that they have MSRP for $75,000 lowered to $45,000-$55,000

I will stay with my built up Mustang GT Premium.

about two weeks ago a black raptor passed me on the highway, soooo sweet, i hadn't seen a black one before and i agree on the exaust sound, it's nice.

V8EXPLR: I drive by there everyday, they had a orange raptor at not long ago and it must've sold fast because i only saw it a couple days after their car show they had. it also had about an 8,000 dollar markup.

Yeah, 'market price adjustment' you'd figure they would be lowering it based on the current market

That's crazy that they can charge that much more for it.

Speaking of the Mustang, I just can't imagine that someone would pay that much for a GT500KR although they are awesome you could get a Porsche 911 turbo for around the same amount.

I suppose the 911 would have about 200hp less then the Mustang though.

Eh, a 911 Turbo is up in the 130s... and then you'd have a little V6 getting the crap run out of it. There's no replacement for displacement.

Yeah give or take $15k Although with a 0-60 coming in at 3.6 sec, I wouldn't mind running a V6. Let's not forget the "little V6" develops 480bhp. BUT I have hijacked this thread so back to the topic.

Anyone who can afford to buy a GT500KR and drive it very gingerly and store it most of the time will have a collectable in 20 years, IMHO.

My local dealer has a white Raptor, it's nice but, the black or orange has a better contrast.
