have replaced fuel pump relay,checked shutoff under dash,checked fuselink,??????????????

 

Where is your fuel pump relay?

Im in the same boat. Mines a 91 F150 and their is no power to the fuel pump. Im thinking its my EEC (computer) but want to replace the relay 1st.

I just had same problem with my 87 f250. If the relay does not fix it start check wires for proper voltage before you replace the eec. I had a corroded wire in my wire harness that was only allowing 3 volts to get thru instead of the 12 volts that it should of had. It took me about 3 hours of traceing wires, testing with meter and unwrapping electrical tape from the harness but i found it. Cut out the bad spot and soldered in new wire and now i have power to the pump again. Always test before buying electical parts, since they can'nt always be returned if it did not fix the problem.

 

I replaced the Fuel pump relay and it fired right up...went to bolt the bracket back up and it shut off. Got to playing around with it and it seems to be the connection to the EEC relay. So Im going to replace that and see if it fixes it.

Your PCM is behind the drivers kick panel.

 

Check the fusible links to the relays. Fuel pump relay and the EEC Relay.

 

The only fusible links on a 92 are for the alternator and main power. If the main power fusible links are open the truck would be dead with no power to anything.
He might want to check all the fuse in the engine compartment fuse/relay box.

Nope not there... neighbor said he thought it was behind the ash tray... according to electrical drawing it should have like 48 wires on it... just not sure what it looks like... thanks..

 

Yes, it is. If you truck is stock.

Look at the firewall side. You'll see the connector. The EEC is on the other side of the firewall. You'll also see a bracket that holds it in. There is one bolt at the top, remove that bolt and slide it into the inner fender well. our gonna have to be creative, you can remove the computer with-out removing the inner fender well. My brother did and he's not too bright so, I am sure you can do it.

 

Jeez...no wonder I am confused. You are one of 3 posters in this thread with the same questions, and 3 different trucks. Go post your own thread and quit crapping in this one. When you do this is really screws stuff up.

 

The fuel pumps on my '88 did the same. Both fuel pump wires had corroded out of the EEC connector or whatever it was. The EEC thing above the wheel well. I'd check every connector you can think of and find in wiring diagrams before you go replacing things. You'll spend more money than need to and be one pissy panda.
