96 powerstroke wont start

My 96 powerstroke wont start, I just put a new fuel pump in it, (that was no fun) and a cam position sensor, It will crank fine but just wont fire. For a while I could get it to start with a little shot of either, I know thats not good for anything, but I needed it. After I got it started I dident need either again unless it sat for a couple days, but if I used it every day it would start on its own and run fine. But now it just cranks, and dont fire at all. It smokes when I crank it so I think im getting fuel. Fuses are all good, and cleaned filter can, and everything good when I changed the pump. Any ideas, maybe another sensor?

well welcome to , before cranking it on a cold start, open the hood and look at the high pressure oil pump and go to the resovouir, take off the little cap and see how much oil is in there, it should be i belive 1 inch from the top, if not fill it, you may have a leaky ring on the IPR wish is down lower onthe pump or res somewhere, that may be the culpret here. Some one else may chime in and confirm my claime.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, I took the little cap off and took the spring out and the oil level is right up to the neck, but the wire that plugs into the IPR is bare from the connector back a inch or so, dont know if it got hot or maybe shorted out the sensor, could this be my problem? After looking closer I ont think its the IPR connector is there another sensor or something right above the IPR, a smaller electrical connector?
