Bent finger on pressure plate

Ray,
Quit messin with these guy's and put that new clutch you bought in the Bronco. Your driven these people goofy! You got a nice run at it though!!!!

i only wish i had a new clutch for it, i knew i should have asked my wife for that for christmas!

was walking thru the garage, kicked the pressure plate and was thinking about getting bolts.. anyone know if the screws are a special type for the pressure plate to flywheel, mine are all tore up heads rounded off and such.. well not all them..

Ford or other supplier. Or maybe just Wal-mart in the plastic pack...

well heck now that i know the size i can go get some at home depot,5/16-18, 1/2 in. Hex Head, mine look allot different though, like they have built in flastwashers and smaller hex heads.

The link I posted is generic, not researched as specific to your application. Look at the bolts. They have a shoulder on them. I doubt you can find bolts like that at HD. Even if they are grade 8s.

Best bet is Ford if you want to be certain.

The a-hole in me wants to suggest that since the bent pressure plate finger does not bother you, why would rounded bolts be a problem? Got Vice-grips?

actually i could just weld a nut over the sripped out hex head.. or just weld the pressur eplate right to the flywheel! save a step all togeather!

well thinking about putting it togeather, still havent decided to cut it off or bend it back..

got good news, a guy had a pressure plate he was gonna throw away with no bent fingers on it, im gonna use it! looks allot better then mine! and i got it free! woo hoo!!!!!`

will keep the other as a spare.

Sill sitting on that free engine! Thinking of ways to get the water out of the cylinders i turned it upside doen and it came out the gp holes!!
