Cargo Door Rattle / How to Fix?

The right rear cargo door on my Ex rattles on rough roads (therefore, almost all the time). I discovered it was the right rear door because I was able to make it stop by jamming a bungee cord between the door and the glass hatch.

Can any one tell me how to repair this rattle without resorting to the "bungee jam"?

Put a little thicker weather stripping in. (From the hardware store)

Or just turn the radio up.

I've not had that issue on 3 Ex's....

but if adjusting the hinges and latch does not help,
maybe try the fix for the door seals?

the one where you put the tubing through the weatherstripping ?

maybe putting some weatherstripping on the bottom part of the door so it props it up just enough when you close it... Just don't use the cheap styro-foam stuff because it'll just bunch up and peel off. See if you can find the hollow foam tube type that type that resembles the stuff around the door jambs. HD has a pretty good selection of that stuff... aside from that I don't know if there are any adjustments you can make to the hinges etc... I'll have to check mine next time .. good luck.

I second the suggestion of renewing the existing seal with latex tubing or foam backer rod... it cured my passenger door rattles.

Wink Vaccum tube

7/16 or 5/16 vaccum tube @ local auto store. ~$.50/ft. Remove seal, have friend hold one end, pull straight and pull tube thru with a fish tape. It takes about 15mins. No more rattles
