Inspection time! Will this pass?
Going to get an B.C. inspection done on my 88 F250. The propane supply line rotted to the point of failure and I replaced it. (Is that legal?) The reason it was so rotted was because it was located on the outside of the framerail, in the path of sand, gravel, etc. I don't know how it passed the first time like that.
Anyways I ran it on the inside, up the firewall, but what may be too close (around 4") to my longtube headers. I wrapped the line in heat shield tape and where the line passes by the framerail, you can see there is a thick hose covering to protect against potential abrasion. (It's not actually resting on the framerail, but about an inch away.)

According to one friend, there must be a clamp on the line every 18", which sounds about right, but I would just like to confirm.
Your thoughts?

I'm not familiar with BC regulations but I believe there are restrictions as to how close propane fuel tanks and lines can be to an exhaust system. I would expect that the reason the fuel line was run outside the frame rail was for this reason. I believe that you should have used CGA Type III propane hose for the replacement.
If you're concerned about passing an inspection, the simplest and best thing to do would be to discuss this with your inspector. He would be best qualified to give you advice. The regulations are there to protect your safety and those around you.
