390 Oil Weight

My basically stock 390 rebuild is almost complete and I was wondering what weight oil I should use in the engine? Basically all parts of the engine are rebuilt. Also, how long should I wait before I change the oil for the first time? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

I guess the answer to this question is simular to asking what flavor ice cream do you like. Everyone has a different answer. I just had my 390 rebuilt. I run 5w-40 because that's what I have ran since forever. I changed the oil (and filter of course)at the 500 mile mark.
