How do I remove and replace the egr valve on my 2004 f350 power stroke diesel ! Thanks in advance

 

Welcome to the forum. Check the tech notes in the 6.0 forum, there are complete procedures.

 

This pic from the 6.0 tech folder shows what I think is the best way to pull the valve:


Just take a long bar and slide it under that wire loop, lever it off of the top of the alternator and it'll pop right out.

What did the valve look like?

 

It was completly black. Installed a new one and we "ll see if it makes a difference. What do you think?

 

If the top part of the valve was clogged up it's bound to be better than it was. If it just had a sooty coating there may not be much of a difference.

 

It was soot with a little gunk build up. I appreciate the info. This site rocks!
