Anyone know where I can buy a rear hub for a 97 F350? All I can find in Spokane is one from a 93, but the interchange says it won't fit. All the parts in it and around it are the same but supposedly the hub is different somehow. I'm trying to avoid towing it the 35 miles out of the mountains and the 45 back to the house so that I can make sure it fits. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What'd you do to trash that and keep everything else serviceable?

 

I'm not sure, but it sheared all of the axel retaining bolts off in the hub. I could understand if I was out thrashing on it, but I was hauling a couple of barrels of water at less than 10 miles an hour. It does look like over half of them sheared off sometime earlier, just sucks that it finally let go when I was 35 miles back into the woods.

 

I'd pull the hub and take it to a machine shop or another member's house to extract the bolts. IIRC, they are 10x1.25 metric, could be 12x1.5 though. Fastenal and Tacoma Screw would have appropriately strong bolts.

 

yea I guess I'll have to do that .... It's just a long way to tow it in, and it's just too dang long for my car hauler. Thinking about just renting a equipment trailer to get it home.
