Any suggestion will be appreciated.I have a 96 f-150 5.0,went to change the coolant and found a small hole in the bottom coolant elbow attachted to the throttle body.Went to investigate the hole and the peice came off in my hand.Guess I was lucky to be home.Does anyone know any fixes or am I bound to buy the complete throttle body assembly?Thanks

Its the coolant line that keeps the TB warm in the winter time . If you live in a warm climate you can just bypass it ?? . If not ?? I think the fitting is pressed in , dont know if they sell them . You may need another TB . Lew

 

If the exhaust gases recirculate from the heads through the intakes, to the throttle body, you'll need to plug the exhaust gas port at the lower intake to keep the throttle body from getting too hot.

 

If you have or can fab up the pieces, i bet JB Weld would work well.

 

I believe that the 5.0 and "standard" 5.8 truck have dual bore TB's. the coolant line is there to "cool" the throttle body, the egr valve (very hot) heats up the TB and the coolant is there to keep it from over heating the TB.
if you have deleted or deactivated the EGR, than you can either bypass the lines togetter or cap them off.
If the EGR is still active then maybe you can drill and tapp new hose fittings to the TB, dunno, but I would try that before buying another one.
