Freebies - advice on install?
Hey guys,
So we went to visit Randy's parents this weekend, and on our way out of town we ran by his dad's shop.
SO his dad pulls me aside and starts asking me if I want some stuff for my truck. He had an '03 7.3 that he traded in on a 6.4...but pulled his goodies off before he traded it in.
This is the cool one:
I know there is a writeup on how to install these, somewhere. My question is, was the digital rearview an option on the early 99?, and if so, will I be lucky enough to find a wiring harness in the headliner somewhere?
He also gave me some really neat grill blankies, summer and winter, and a fold-up tailgate step ladder.

Lisa, maybe this will help you. I think you can find the wiring separately and just install. It is stand alone and doesn't require anything from our early '99 trucks factory wiring. IIRC the compass is internal so all you have to run is the power and the air temp sensor wiring. Hope that helps.

Anyone who has installed one have the wiring diagram that came from the manufacturer? I am electrically retarded and would like to see it.
OR...i would love to have the email of the guy who is selling these on ebay. I am searching ebay and having a hard time finding him. I searched Genex and all I found was a bunch of golfing crap.

I did some searching and found this for you It all depends on the model # and the # of pins or wires that the mirror has on it
PIN 1 PINK POWER +12 volts
PIN 2 BK CHASSIS, GND
PIN 3 LT GRN BACKUP LIGHTS
PIN 4 GY TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 5 PINK TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 6 DR GRN/WT TEMP PROBE
PIN 7 BK/WT TEMP PROBE
Update on the GNTX-126...
GRY = +Output to side dimming mirror
PNK = -Output to side dimming mirror
GNTX-104 p
WHT/RED = Accessory +12vdc
PNK = Constant +12vdc
BLK = Ground
VIO/BLK = +12vdc reverse inhibit input
ORG/WHT = Active low transistor output from auto headlights function
BRN = Second active low transistor output from auto headlights function
Edit:
This is all I could find for the 177 Lisa, they all claim to have colors on the wiring not all black like yours. Were going to have to have you check it for pin #'s
The connections to a Gentex mirror (with comp and temp). The connector pin numbers are found on the wire incursion side of the mating connector.
GM / wire harness color / function
PIN 1 / PINK / POWER +12 volts
PIN 2 / BK / CHASSIS, GND
PIN 3 / LT GRN / BACKUP LIGHTS
PIN 4 /GY / TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 5 / PINK / TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 6 / DR GRN/WT / TEMP PROBE
PIN 7 / BK/WT / TEMP PROBE
Note: Pin 3 is to be connected to the backup lights to turn off the auto dim feature in reverse.
I have been told that "If you intend not to use this feature connect the LT GRN wire to chassis ground. If this pin is floating the auto dim will not work properly." I have not connected this yet and it seems to function propoerly except of turning off the auto dimm when the vehicle is put into reverse. Hope this helps.
******IMPORTANT *******
DO NOT CONNECT THE LT GRN WIRE TO GROUND. THIS WIRE IS 12V WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE. YOU WILL BLOW A FUSE
