Hi, my name is Alex, and I'm a Ford truck enthusiast. It started 20 years ago when I got my learners permit and a 1979 Ford Courier. I've been driving Fords ever since, well, except that one time when I REALLY needed something and all I could find was a *gasp* 74 Chevy C20 3/4 ton with a 292 I6, 3-speed manual with compound low, boy that thing was SWEE...oh, sorry.

I currently own a 97 F-350 XL 4X4 crew cab. It's running an all stock 5.8L and auto trans. The only upgrades I've done to it are purely cosmetic, well, except replacing the tranny.

Fo those of you wanting to know, I live in Klamath Falls, I'm a drylander...I saw someone else down this way, medicmike, in Medford, hey.

I was looking through some of the other posts on here this morning, and found one about members that don't post...just to give y'all a heads up, I'm military and do deploy from time to time, so if I drop off the face of the earth for a few months at a time...but I'll try to give ya a heads up before hand...

I want to thank the Fabman too for lettin me hang with y'all ...

I don't know what the rules for posting pics in our little corner of the forums are, but i'm gonna throw a couple up anyway...

Like I said, all cosmetic...

No, the Antonov has been gone for some time. We do get C-130's set up for fire fighting in from Wyoming or Colorado just about every summer now. Most of the time they're fighting fires down in Cali though...

Here's another interesting note for you. An older gentleman here in town bought a MiG 17 some years back and restored it to full flying ability. It was called the Pink Panther and IT WAS PINK!

And, I just hijacked my own thread...

Actually, we run the only F-15 Advanced Tactics training course in the Air Force. Only thing that's saving us from closing. And SOP? I take it you are current/former military as well?

I've been to the 87-96 forums...great info in there from what I've been able to read so far. Thank you. And FYI...it's an F-350...I do some construction on the side, so the 1 ton was almost a necessity. Plus the crew cab so I can load the boys in it and go...got everything I need in one place!

You'll find there's a lot of military, and former military on FTE. A thread you should check out is here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ne-at-all.html

Army Vet here, 6 years, with 2-1/2 tours in Nam.

Thanks for the link, and for your service before me. I spent 12 years in the Army and Army Guard before transferring to the Air Guard 4 years ago.

Yeah we did. He was a kick in the pants to talk to also. I had that episode on the DVR for a couple years, until we got rid of DISH network...I wish I'd had some way to record it to dvd

Welcome buds. Yeah, if you can make it we're getting together on the 16th at my house. A lot of former military for sure. I am (was discharged during training for a tumor under my right clavical), my dad is a Green Beret (Nam), my big brother is an Army Combat Medic, and the list goes on. Hope to see you here on the 16th, but if you can't make it, we understand. If the trip needs to be more than just driving up and driving back, we have a few affordable motels, or you can pitch tent in the backyard, or pull up some rug. The couch is spoken for (I think), but maybe not.

I would love to, but that puts me right smack in the middle of a busy couple weeks for me at work. Another time for sure though.

No problem. We look forward to meeting every one in the Oregon Chapter. I think we can maybe start planning annual meets, and make them regional.
