I'm curious what you lightning owners are paying in insurance, and if it registered as just an F150 or as a Lightning on the paperwork. I'm considering going to go looking for one after my next paycheck, and am trying to get a budget together. Also, is the rumor of a 2003 3 valve head on the F150's true. If so i'll wait and get one then since it'll undoubtedly be over 400HP by then.

How can you do a 3 Valve/head set up? I dunno about 400HP, that sounds a bit insane, though it would be killer! Where'd you see the rumors? Is it something I can read up about? Sounds interesting.

the 3 valve head, i assume is 2 intake and 1 exhaust, i read about it somewhere else on this site one night while deep into reading.

 

Right now, I pay about $400 every 6 months for full coverage insurance on my 99 Lightning. I'm a 24 year old male with nothing on my driving record. If you are interested, I'm selling my Lightning in order to get a new supercrew. You won't regret the Lightning purchase one bit. They are great trucks, as are many of the other Ford vehicles we've owned.

I just bought mine and hadn't even checked the insurance on it before I bought it. Didn't occur to me until I was driving it home. I called the insurance company and it turns out that it was $17 less per year than my car was. Good news for me. That makes it $444 per year. Pretty sweet.

 

My 2001 L is costing me less a year than my 99 F250 Superduty 4x4. I think it just goes in as a 2wd F150.
