1963 Ford F100 Tailgate

Does anyone know where i can get or who makes a reproduction tailgate for these trucks? LMC makes ones for the 64 to 66 but not for the 61 thru 63. or are the 61 thru 66 all the same?

If you try National Parts Depot they list 2 tailgates
F-40700-19A for 61 thru 63 Uni-Body Stlye Side...or
F-40700-3 for 61 thru 72 Step Side.

You didn't list which bed style so I included both

tooterturtle: I believe this was a duplicate question from Choctaw. We've determined that he has a Fridgeside type bed (aka wrong bed) on his truck. To the best of everyone's collective knowledge no one makes repop tailgates for this bed.

B7C9940700A .. Tailgate / Fits: 1957/63 F100/350 Styleside / Obsolete.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

In the OP's other thread on this subject, Garbz2 said no one has reproduced it.

Just a week ago I found a guy in Seattle who sold me a tailgate listed on Craigslist for $250. When he bought the truck new in 65, he took off the tailgate and put on a slide-in camper. He sold the truck many years later with the camper on it and forgot about the tailgate. He found it cleaning out his storage shed. Red with White letters (my 250 CS/CC is Blue and White) but pristine! So I basically got a 44 year old brand new tailgate...not a scratch on it. A very lucky find.

Hey CS 65, I live in Kirkland and work in Bellevue.
I found the gate on Craigslist, took one look at it and snapped it up before the money caught fire in my pocket.

I have looked and felt the new gates stamped with original dies, but the metal is no where near the guage steel of the original metal gates, so I couldn't pass it up!
