2000 F250 4x4 V10, all new ball joints, but has pay in steering box, is there any way to adjust or will I have to replace?

Thanks

You can try to adjust the bearing but usually, it doesn't make much of a difference. I'm in the same boat right now.

Let me guess..... going down the highway or interstate you have about a 1-2 inches of slack in the wheel. Had the same problem on my '04, my dad had the same problem on his 2000, and another friend of mine had that problem on his 2000. All 3 started having issues between 90k-120k. Tightening up the adjusting screw on top of the steering box cured the problem on all 3 trucks. Just loosen the lock nut, and tighten the adjusting screw until you meet a lot of resistence, then back it out 3/4 of a turn and tighten the lock nut. It's important to hold the lock nut in place with a wrench while tightening the adjusting screw. Likewise, hold the adjusting screw in place with an allen wrench while tightening the lock nut.

That's very interesting. My truck has some slack too, I just got ball joints, front sway bar end links, and a total front end alignment. Still a little play. I'll have to look into this. BTW, mine has roughly 66,000 mi.
