Interesting day at work yesterday

Senator Byrd and his entourage visited the NRAO yesterday to dedicate our Science Center in honor of his late wife. Was a pretty interesting event. He's definitely getting up there in age and I felt bad for him when he was talking about his wife, he really misses her.

Here's a story from the Fox channel in Beckley....

Looks like your day was very interesting. I have been wanting to take my older Girl Scouts up there but I have not been able to work it in yet. Maybe sometime this summer. This new center will make the trip that much better.

I'm sure they would enjoy it! The Science Center has a lot of hands on exhibits that are cool. And, depending on which day/time you visit, they do other things like the star lab on Fridays I think...?

Anyway, lots of info on this page if you do decide to visit....
Info for the General Public NRAO-Green Bank

If your group is of decent size you might want to coordinate in advance to make sure there's enough room for things like the star lab or whatever else is going on you might want to do. One of the pages on the above link has contact info.
