Exclamation Vintage Dealership Photos....

I dont know if this was ever done before but I thought it would be a good topic to start.

I will post some old dealership related photos and if anyone else has any that they want to share feel free to post. A far as being brand specific, I wouldnt say Ford only cause sometimes you cant find old Ford dealership photos so this will be open to all dealerships or carlots.

Here is the first photo

This is the Ford Motor Company Plant at 3906 Harrisburg Houston Texas

Ford Display at the Rice Hotel 1928 - Showing off Ford`s All Steel Construction

Houston Texas Radio Special - Date Unknown

Ford Dealer's Radio Special - Hearman Park Houston, Texas

This next photo is of the dealership my 56 Fairlane was bought new from.

Ivy Russell Authorized Ford Dealership - Yale & 11th Street Houston, Texas - 1958

These next two photos are two views of the Dallas Ford Plant. Where my 56 was built at.

Yenko Chevrolet Dealership

Car Giveaway at Houston Buffs & San Anonio Game - Jack Roach Ford - Date Unknown.

I have many other photos but these are the only dealership/factory related ones I currently have.

Those are some neat pics. I like the one for sale for $445. I got a quote today for $450 on replacing the 1/4 panel on my 66 mustang.

Safety Barrier Construction on Gulf Freeway - Houston Texas - 1953?

News paper article on Wreck

It was May 1, 1959. George Bell, a 25-year-old Mexia salesman, was driving into Houston on the "new Dallas Freeway" ( U.S. 75 ) when he crashed his Buick through a barricade on Airline near Crosstimbers. The above photo shows where his car landed.

The rest got cut off in the description but he saw the barricade and hit the brakes but the freeway speed (60 - 65 mph) caused his car to slide on the loose gravel to where it stopped in the photo.

It seems I left a few photos off.

Gulf Gas Station Near the Eastwood Theater - Houston Texas - Date unknown

I had noticed that you had lifted some images (Ford and other) from my website Home Page Story Sloane's Gallery and them on this website without my permission. All of my images are copyrighted. I would appreciate either taking them off or giving the proper credit for the hard work that went into presenting these images by crediting the source…
Thank you,

1. Never been to nor heard of your website till now.

2. Didnt obtain my photos from your website. They were obtained from Houston Historical messageboards as well as my searches online from sites like photobucket to yahoo and askjeeve photo searches.

3. Cant delete them since the posts are over 1 year old and theres no way for me to edit such an old post. Not that I would.

4. Cant credit you for the source of the photos because I didnt obtain the photos from you.

Thank you for the link. This forum is not here to discuss copyright agreement. If you have further issues, please contact our legal department.

Thank you all for your input. I think all the photos were taken from public domain and posted in good faith. There is no reason to make further issue of it.

I can check some of my messageboard sources. If I do find them I will gladly post them. Now if any future photo posts I make involves a photo that the guy has on his website will not be posted. Dont care to start anything and never did wanted to start any issues. But dont be suprised if it takes months to find a vintage photo of the Fairlane Mansion. Some photos are absolutely hard to find. Took me just over a year to track down a photo of the Ivy Russell ford dealership seeing as no one had the photo. Then the old photo of the Heights gas station my grandfather used to fill up the 56 I have a new photo of it but cant find vintage photos of it. One person told me to look into getting this one book on historic heights by this one woman who actually has the photo in the book or contact her if I just want the photo.

I have some photos I havent posted before, Just got done going through his site to verify that the photos I planned on posting arent even on his website to prevent any further issues. Hopefully posting these dont cause any more claims of copyright issues since these were all obtained freely from multiple sources from public library archives down to historical soceity messageboards.

Automatic Car Wash - 1920`s

US-59 Traffic Jam - 1962

Near League City - July 1956

Gulf Freeway - October 1958

610 Westheimer - December 3, 1964 (Joske's department store can be seen at bottom right corner)

And last one im posting now is of the automatic car counter taken in 1948 - 1949

I know as a fact these shouldnt be an issue posting them, I know he doesnt own these nor have these. These I obtained from the highway department for Texas which is one of my sources.
