Disable keyless entry pad

How can I disable the keyless entry pad on my 05 SCREW without effecting anything else?? I researched it on this sight but can't find anything like that.

Thanks,
Bob L.

You can try and unplug it in the door. Take the door panel off and take a look, if its in there unplug it and see what happens. Hope this helps!

I thought there was an option in the Owners manual

but yeah, just unplug it from the pigtail inside the door panel if all else fails

why do you want to disable it?

Have you got an Ex who knows the code?

Keyless entry key pad procedure
1. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position.
2. Close all the doors.
3. Enter 5–digit entry code
4. Press and hold the 7 • 8. While holding the 7 • 8 press the 3 • 4.
5. Release the 3 • 4.
6. Release the 7 • 8.
The user should receive a horn chirp to indicate the system has been
disabled or a chirp followed by a honk to indicate the system has been
enabled.

if someone knows the code, reset the code to something else. unless that person knows the factory preset code...which sucks

From reading the manual it appears so. Try the steps and when you hear it just chirp without the honk it should be disabled. Maybe you could find another module with its code in a parts yard and install it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the factory code is stored in the PCM and is VIN locked. If so, changing the key pad won't help. Possibly could get a new code flashed in from Ford at a dealer. Or just unplug it for now.

you have 2 options

1. replace the lock module on the back wall of the cab...but that may be VIN locked and require Ford Tech PCM voodoo

2. unplug/replace the keypad on the door with a non-keypad setup

buy a plastic surround for the door handle that doesn't have the cutouts. just unplug the pigtail from the original pad and wrap it with some electrical tape to prevent a short.

all of the door handles interchange, so it's a relatively painless process
