Can't find Lighting anywhere!!
Hey Guys, I have been looking for a Lighting everywhere but not one dealership around Memphis, Tn has a Lighting in stock. I'm getting a little pissed off because I don't think the dealers are looking hard enough and I'm sure by the time they find one the 0% will be over. I told them I would be happy with a new or used truck but they are still having trouble locating one. I found one in nashville but thats like a 4 hour drive and they are asking 32,700. You guys are lucky you even found one of these damn trucks, you should be very happy with your truck because I sure as hell would be.

I am selling my 01 red lightning if you are interested.
I added a bed-rug, bed cover, motion sensor alarm upgrade, and seat covers. the truck is very clean, it has 7200 miles on it. I called Ford SVT today to get the production #, it is # 1696 I believe out of 7000.
Good luck in your search.
Great trucks, I wouldn't sell mine if I didn't have to.

Come to South East Michigan, Russ Milne Ford has a few of the 2001's on the Lot, and a couple of 2000's (used) the phone number is 810 948 7700 as for one of the sales men. They sell them on the A Plan if your an employee and they will sell them on the X Plan for friends & neighbors of a ford employee. That will save you about $1600 bucks off the sticker price.

Ford is not in the practice of making many concessions on the SVT line. I was fortunate to get a 7.9% interest rate on mine. Actually, I really came away with a very good deal.......
* No $2,000 mark-up (paid sticker)
* 7.9% interest rate (started out at 9.2%)
* Ford washed out the title on my 2000 Saturn LW2.
* Extra set of brand new embroidered F-series floormats.
* Extra 2001 Lightning rim and new Goodyear F1 as spare tire.

Man, my dad and I just bought a superduty, stickered at $47,500 (canadian dollars) and bought for $42,800. Almost $5000 difference.
Are lightnings and mustangs cost price closer to their stickered price, or do they just have higher demand and dealers don't want to make you a deal?

I guess the way Ford sees it, they will sell the SVT vehicles regardless of any incentives they place on them. It all depends on the dealer and how fast they want to turn 'em.
When I first started looking at Lightnings back in February of 2001, almost every one I found at the dealers had been special ordered and had someone's name already on it. As a matter of fact, the one I ended up buying was ordered by someone else and they had to back out of the deal for financial reasons. The sales rep had my name and number on file from previous visits and was kind enough to give me first crack at it.
I found the same retail mentality when I tried to but a Buick Regal T-Type in 1987. The sales reps would not budge off the sticker and told me the cars would basically sell themselves. The Buick Boys wouldn't even let you test drive one!
Even though I had to pay sticker for mine, I have no regrets. I absolutely love this truck and feel like it's money well spent. Especially when I dust off other vehicles costing much, much more.
