Noblesville Project

Hey all,

Thought I would check in with the Indiana group as well, before winter I worked on taking my garage from a simple parking place to a functional shop and now I have added a project!

Short summary:
1977 F150 XLT Ranger 460, C6 9"
Factory Air

This is going to be my weekend street machine and occasional tow rig for my Jeep I like to take to the Badlands in Attica, IN. Looking forward to getting it back to its original glory and freeing up some extra horsepower in the process!

I need to find a nice set of wheels and new tires all around, the rear tire was down to the steel belting when I bought the truck. Hoping for some 8-10" wide rear tires and a more standard width in the front, planning on keeping them all within the wheel wells so it keeps a sleeper attitude.

Crate motor with 500 miles! Planning on a Cam, pre-72 timing set, some better heads, a new intake, and headers!

that looks like an awesome project truck. As far as tires i recommend BFG M/T km. 265/75R16 is the size i have.

Thanks all for the warm welcome - I am currently struggling with the tire choice actually. I want the truck to have a "street" feel it it and be able to put the power to the ground, but I also need it to function as a truck and be able to handle towing a car hauler with my Jeep on it.

Welcome to FTE!
My dad had a '77 F150 at one time, my younger brother took his drivers test in it. My son has a '77 F250 now that is a rolling project truck.

Updated posting!

Got a set of Nomad II Cragar 15x8's on the truck with a set of 255/70/15 tires. I like the look it gives the truck. Considering it had 3 different sized tires on it that were all garbage and Dodge wheels when I got it making a huge improvement wasn't too difficult.

I also pulled it out today and washed it down. The body isn't the best, but I kind of like it looking a little rough with the nice wheels. The outside will likely stay this way for the next year, the interior will be good as new by July!

EDIT: I also just got a set of OEM 1973 grill inserts that are going back on once I get the area behind painted satin black.

77_150_460 Beautiful looking truck! Did you have to use spacers on the front hubs for those Cragar wheels to fit?
