You should be able to. The truck will look a lot better too. IMHO

Whats the wheelbase of your truck..its shown on the warranty plate...is your truck 2 or 4WD...there is a difference depending on what truck you have.

Believe the wheelbase of the 66 is different than the 63. If you're going with the Styleside bed, probably should use the 64 bed to avoid having to make modifications to get the wheels in the right place.

That's what I understand. According to the "experts" the wheelbase was extended on the 65-66 models by 2-3 inches. I don't remember exactly and haven't had a chance to look back at previous posts. I had a chance to swap for a 66 long bed flairside bed and was told that the wheels in the wheel wells would be off. I don't have a 65-66 bed to measure. I do have a 64 shortbed I can measure.

My truck is a 2wd and the donor is also a 2wd. The beds look very close but the donor bed is an hour away so kinda hard for me to measure, does anyone have a 65 they can measure for me. My truck bed i believe is a 1960 f100 bed, the lines dont match up and i have those round tailights. Thanks

FYI: That's the "correct" bed for the 63, AKA "wrong bed". Many people don't like the look. Ford used the old beds as that's all they had when the Uni's were being phased out due to complaints.

I am actually going to just buy the 65, so i will either part out the 63 or just sell the whole thing really cheap. I am going to pick it up the 65 this weekend so if anyone needs anything off the 63 or even better the whole thing just let me know i am in NC (CHARLOTTE)

The 65 and 6 trucks rode on 114" and 129" wheelbases...the 4WD trucks rode on 120" w.b. The earlier trucks also rode on a 122" w.b Im not certain what the w.b. was for the earlier shortbed trucks.

This is the first thread that I recall reading that the 64-66 beds were different, and I have been coming here every day for over 10 years.

John, The OPs truck is a 63...so unless its a unibody then it would have the 57-60 style bed on it which as we all...or most/many know was used thru 66 on the 4WD trucks. The doublewall styleside bed was used 64-6...the single wall styleside bed was used on 63s as they were needing a fast replacement since the unibody was being phased out...

For more info, check out my galleries...gonna clear up some of the wheelbase confusion regarding 64s....adding another gallery...
