Anyone know the minimum rotor thickness spec for OEM front rotors on an '05 4X4 F150?

I didn't see it on the rotor although I didn't remove it.

 

Minimum front rotor thickness: 1.12 inches
Minimum thickness for machining rotor: 1.14 inches

Check the rotor in 4 places.

In the mean time a friend had told me NAPA has those specs so I checked with them. They gave me the same 1.122" for the min thickness. I didn't ask them about minimum to machine.

I'm measuring 1.162 - 1.168 but the dealership tried to tell me they're under spec and need to be replaced. Bunch of crap! I knew it, they only have about 40,000 miles on them and have never been machined. Glad I checked instead of just saying ok.

 

Has anybody else had issues with the stock rotor warping. I had mine turned at 15,000 and they are bad again at 25,000. We drive around town (by we I mean my wife, so who knows what kind of punishment she is putting the brakes through) and never tow. Just a little disappointed with the problems. Are there aftermarket rotors out there that will hold up better, or are the stock metallic pads creating too much heat. Would drilled and slotted be the way to go. Thanks

 

Apparently the stock rotors on the 150's are known to warp quickly. I had mine cut and then decided I just wanted to replace them. I bought a pair of cross-drilled and slotted rotors on Ebay with some new pads and haven't had a problem since.
