99 F250 Static in Radio Speakers
Ok guys need your help here Ive thought about replacing all the speakers but wana see if anybody has an Idea why all the speakers have static in them. It doesnt matter if the truck is running or if the truck is off the static is still there. Im thinking it could be a ground problem but dont know where to start looking. Also the radio does not stay on with the delay when the key is cut off it turns off as soon as the key is cut off. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I don't think the '99 has the "stays on until door opened" feature on the radio. Mine didn't.
As for the ground issue, its a possibility. When I replaced my stereo I found the factory ground was tiny and had a break inside the insullation, causing intermittant noise.
You can run another ground wire for the head unit, but before you do that try running a ground strap from the bottom of your cab to the frame. Its easy and cheap and may clear up the issue without having to run another wire.

Has the truck always done this since you have owned it? Does it do it no matter where your parked? I wouldn't suspect the speakers as all of them are doing it. Try cruisers idea as a ground loop maybe occuring. The radio itself could also be defective. Does it do it with a CD/Tape or different stations?
