how do i adjust it

 

The shift indicator is moved by a small cable under the dash and around top of the steering column. There is a small wheel for you to turn to move the cable a little.

 

try adjusting the cable by turning the adjusting wheel. If that is not enough to get it into alignment, try pulling down on the cable until it lines up correctly.Then use a plastic cable tie to hold it down. No need to rip out the dash either ... just stand on your head and locate the cable under the steering column area.
