Consider the thread officially approved.

Raises the right lead-foot and stomps on it, for the official stamp of approval.

Can't be much colder than sitting through a football game.

Other ideas?

Thompson Speedway
The Ice-Breaker is April 4 & 5 (Sat, & Sun.)

Stafford Motor Speedway Online
Sunday March 29 is their earliest event and its a motorcycle swap meet.
Firday April 24 is their Spring Sizzler.

Waterford Speedbowl
"Speedbowl management has successfully petitioned the Superior Court of New London to postpone the possible foreclosure sale of the facility until October 31st of this year. "

When I clicked on their Schedule link, Firefox browser warned me that the schedule is listed as an attack site. I wonder if those reports were made maliciously?

Ya, I used to voulenteer at Waterford and in the summer the nights would get chilly. So we might want to wait a couple of months for this. How about something inside, maybe Mystic Aquarium or Peabody Muesem.

Mystic Aquarium & Mystic Seaport, both have ample parking lots.

Peabody Museum: "Weekend parking is free in designated Yale University parking lots, including lots off Humphrey Street."

Another thought similar to Mystic is The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, they have an IMAX theater.

Keep in mind that if we pick something "too" family oriented, our bosses and bosses helpers will want to come as well. (not that there is anything wrong with that )

My thought for the summer would be a cookout at a park somewhere and families can come. Park the trucks all shiny and what not out on the grass and take lots of nice pics. I may even be able to swing 5 or 10 gallons (yes gallons) of home brew with enough notice.

I believe Hamonassett (sp?) is on the drawing board for a GTG like that.

That's a good thought. Someone else had mentioned a truck museum as well. I think that person mentioned that it was over in my neck of the woods in or around Plainville. I can't dig into this until Sunday or early next week though. I am super busy with preparations for a full 3 weeks of vacation starting Saturday (and I need it). If work is slow tomorrow and Friday I will also take a crack at it. Do we have an updated map with peoples estimated locations? That would make identifying GTGs more central to the bulk of members. I may be able to maintain something like that but would need to info that Dave probably has on all the newest members.

I remember that my parents always rave about a little grinder shop over by the airport somewhere. I will give them a ring in the morning for a refresher.
