She is finally mine!!!!!
It's been a long 2 weeks but she is finally mine. I'm so stoked. I've always wanted ones of these trucks and it's finally MINE!!!!!!! Yea Hoooo!!!!!
She leaks a little oil. What do you guys and gal recommend for oil. Would a conventional 10-30 work best or maybe something thicker?
It has the stock I6 215 OHV

Well done, the truck looks in great shape. A little TLC ad she will be the envy of your neighborhood.

In my day, STP was the touted snake oil champion for all engine ailments; it cured leaks, compression problems, burning oil, etc.
Now wiser, I would suggest you stay with 10w-30 and find the cause of your engine leak. Power spray the engine and look for any leaks, e.g., rear man seal, loose bolts on oil pan, valve cover, etc.

Nothing is worse than trying to remove oil that has soaked into the concrete of your driveway.

Great looking truck! And thanks for the pics (we're a visual bunch)
On the oil, I've been using oil designated as "off road use". I did some reading on the internet about flat tappet cams and hydraulic lifters and such and was directed this way. Over the years an additive called ZDP (I think) has been removed from oil to help catalytic converters last longer. This additive is supposed to help with "high pressure friction" such as in the valve train of earlier engines. Since most (if not all) engines have roller valve trains, this additive is no longer necessary. I've been using this off road oil in all of my single cylinder mower and motorcylce engines for several years with no issues.
Good Luck,
