Fuel Filter

I need to change my fuel filter in my '07. Anyone know the location and special tools I may need?

While we're at it, who makes a comprehensive repair manual for our rigs?

For our 2000 Focus, we had factory spec repair manuals, but I don't want to spend $200 on manuals again (unless I have to!).

Thanks

Hey check us out at ALLDATAdiy.com. We have the Factory service manuals in electronic format, way cheaper. ($26.95 for the first car $16.95 for the 2nd)

I personally checked and the fuel filter location and procedure is covered in detail, as well as the procedure to depressurize the fuel system.

usually it is on the drivers side frame rail. I beleive you will also need a fuel line release tool. $10 bucks tops at the auto parts store.
Let the car sit over night and that will depressurize the system.
All you need is a oil catch can, rags, and the fuel line tool. There might be a screw or nut that holds the fuel filter to the frame rail.

Once you replace the filter turn the key to the on position and let the fuel pump fill the filter. You can hear the pump running. Once it stops turn the key off and them same thing again. I would do it three or four times before you try to start the car.

There is a special ford fuel line release tool to release the clips on the fuel line. I picked up a set of them from Sears with multiple sizes.
I would recommend wearing nitrile gloves along with either mechanix gloves or some sort of heavy duty glove because the one clip that I release was very easy and then the next clip required enough force when it finally let go I ripped my knuckles on the frame.
