new but thought i Would try looking for rims

Hi folks.. looks like this section doesnt get alot of play but thought I would try....

I have a 93 Ford f 250 xlt I just bought for my second plow truckk.. Has new coopers on the rims.. the only issue I have with this trucks is the rims.... THey are aluminum american racing rims that are 16.5" and they are just horrible... as OF righ now the lug holess in the front rims are concave in shape and bigger than they should be ..so the lugs never really get tight...... ever day we use it we have to jack te truck up and tighten the lugs.......

So Im looking for some 16.5" rims.... and Im finding it near impossible.... I would like steel rims if I can get them....

Anyone have any or know where I can get some??

THanks
STephen

Welcome.
Where you from?

Yes this section is kind of dead right now. Winter blues and no one wanting to play out in the cold right now.

FYI. There are many sections in these forums and posting your question in the correct section will get you the most answers/replies.

Have you looked into getting 16.5" tires yet? Good luck and you better open your wallet. I ended up getting 16.5" tires off craigslist used because of the price of them new. Lucky me, 16" rims won't fit over the front drums on the '68.

16.5" steel rims I think were perety much done away with in the late 70's. I could be mistaken. They do make them aftermarket (as you have) for off road tires.

I would look into aloy rim repair (probably expensive).

16" rims can be had at most junk yars for fairly cheap money. I think the lase set I got for like $125 a few years ago. Remember in 95 or 96 they changed the lug patturn on the superduties.

Edit: I forgot to add I think I have some steel 16.5" split rims under 2 feet of snow. Good like finding anyone who still knows how to mount tires on them or even who has the equipment.

I'm looking at mounting 19.5" rims on my 06 van.

My bolt pattern is 8x6.5" iirc, not the metric pattern.

If my rims and tires fit you, I would have added incentive to make the switch as I have a decent amount of tread left.

Then again, I wonder if you would be interested in going the 19.5" route yourself?

Would 19.5"s fit w/o some kind of lift?
You putting low profiles on those 19.5"s?

I see you E350 is 4x4 converted and probably has some kind of suspension lift even if small.

Their site discusses direct replacement tires so that you maintain the originally equipped tire diameter, and therefor no lift is required nor speedometer recalibration.

They also offer five sizes of tires up to about four inches in diameter larger than the originally equipped. In which case mod to suit your E/F class and chosen tire.

Ref.
What size 19.5" tire do you recommend?

"No Suspension or Fender Modifications Necessary Within the Recommended Tires Sizes for Your Application"

The Quigley 4x4 conversion gives me a 4" lift front and 3.5" lift rear (or is it the other way around?).

If your still looking for 16.5" rims give this guy an email.

Remember the lug patter change around the 96 year that these are from.
