I just changed the oil in my truck the book called for 7 quarts, I also changed the filter, I dumped 7 quarts into it, started the engine and let it run for a couple of minutes, waited probably 20 minutes and checked the level of oil on the dipstick and it was only half ways between the low level line and the full level line does it take 7.5 quarts with a filter change or should i just as i did and dump 7 quarts in it and leave it alone.

Yup mine is the same. I actually changed my oil twice in one day thinking i for got something and half way up the hash marks. If you put 7 qts in you are just fine.

 

Yea i had mine changed at the dealer and thought they were f-ing me over cause i thought 5.4's took 6 qts. And the bill said 7.

 

I think the older 5.4's took 6 but I know these newer 5.4's are oil hogs lol.
