Edge Owners

I looking for Edge owners with 30,000+ miles. I know the vehicle is relatively new but my wife and I are picking up a 2008 Edge SEL AWD tonight. It has 20K miles and we are getting a good deal. I typically buy new vehicles but my wife has always liked to get a year old vehicle with low miles so you don't take such a hit on the vehicle. On my vehicles I don't get extended warranties but when buying used I always have that worry in the back of my mind. The vehicle is in great condition and clean record and all I read is good things on the edge but most posts are at 1000miles. I would like to know how the vehicle is doing close to end of standard warranty. Any big issues.

I know that I could just put the extra money asside each month and I know I can add the warranty at the end of the standard warranty so I am really just lookign to see if this vehicle is as great as it seems. I have always been a Ford owner with relatively good luck with my vehicles but it only takes that one bad one to screw things up.

I'm at 8,000 miles with ours. 2008 Limited AWD, Loaded with ALL options.

It has been flawless. I know I don't meet your 20,000+ criteria.

Run an Oasis report on it. The service department can do this for you.
This way you'll know the repair history, if any.

Thanks. We already had the Oasis report done and everything checks out great. I am just curious how the vehicle holds up over time. I have to say that of all the vehicles I have researched, the edge definitely has the best reviews but being a newer model vehicle I am concerned about the longevity of the car. All signs point to great quality control on this one and this is why we are buying it but but we usually put on 20K miles a year so in 4 years this will have 100K+.

What are you waiting for then?
Buy it already!

The Edge should hold up just fine.

I plan to keep ours for 150,000 miles.

We did buy it and picked it up last night but I was asking for any issues people may have with more miles to determine the warranty. I also plan to keep it well over 100,000 miles.

2007 edge

I personally do not have an edge (I have a 2wd F250 PSD and a 1996 GMC K2500 4x4 6.5 Turbo Diesel), BUT my parents have one with 34k miles. They went on a trip last summer and got over 27 mpg with the A/C on the whole trip @ 60-75 mph while on the highway. Thats great for a 4500 lbs car with a v6. Keep it for a long time, it will last. The bumper to bumper warranty was up to 30k miles for ours and the powertrain (i think)/corrosion is up to 60K miles.

The only thing I don't like about the edge is the lack of dark interior choices.

Awesome, thanks for the help. We drove ours around 60 miles last night and averaged 28.1 mpg. I have always had Ford trucks so it is nice to see another Ford in the garage.

We have 42,000 on ours. The only problem we have had is the recalled valve stems, although not recalled by ford. If it is an 07 check those stems. Other than that it has been absolutely trouble free. We have enjoyed every mile.

I am not in the mileage range that you are looking for but we have a 2008 Edge SEL AWD that we bought use about 5 weeks ago. It had 7100 on it at purchase and now we are just about at 8k. No issues so far and I really like the quality in the build. The plan is to keep it for about 10 years or so.

I have 26,000 on mine and it's a company car so it gets driven like one. It's perfect in every way.
