Y pipe with out CAT?

I need to replace my Y pipe in my 92 f150 302. It is rusted out. I already have a pair of summit shorty headers. I am looking for a y-pipe that doesn’t have a cat, but has an o2 fitting. I would hate to pay for a cat only to gut it out..

Anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks!

Doug

Y pipe with out CAT?

Sure, Maremont makes them. I just put one on my friend's '96 F150 with a 302 (he did the same thing..Summit headers and a y-pipe). I don't remember the number right off hand, but I can get it for you tomorrow (12/3). Call your local Auto Parts stores and see if they sell Maremont pipes. His Y-pipe did come with a cat, but it was a seperate piece that replaces the second cat. So instead of 2 cats, he now has one. He hasn't had any problems with his 02 sensors, he had 3 (one on each manifold and one after the first cat).

So the Y-pipe has a fitting for a o2? Did it have a fitting for the air pump hose?

Thanks!

Doug

The y-pipe does have the fitting for the O2 sensor. The cat has the line for the air pump. It is a high flow cat. One high flow is still better than the two cats and it won't mess up your O2 sensors AND you'll still pass emissions if they check it.

Bassani makes a stainless steel y-pipe without cat and a place for the O2 sensor and air pipe.

Sorry it took so long. The Maremont number for that y pipe is 28989. It is listed as a y-pipe and cat, but two seperate pieces. It is pretty pricey, something like $200, but it does come with a high flow cat and elimiates the first cat. It has one O2 sensor bung on it, right at the Y. The cat has the air pump line so you can hook that up too, if you want.

That part is listed for 91-96 F150 2wd or 4wd, with a 302 motor. It is the same for automatic or standard transmission.

Hope that is what you were looking for.

I know the y-pipe on my 351w is two 2 1/4"OD pipes into a single 2 1/2"OD pipe. I think, but don't quote me on it, that the y-pipe for the 302 is the same pipe size.

that site has some y-pipes and cat combos depending on GVW. I found my 2 cat pipe was replaced by a y pipe and universal cat. It had O2 hole also.
