I'm still looking for a running, decent mid 70s F250 4X4 with the 300 six. I found two but the first is in deplorable condition and the owner of the second can't decide whether to sell or not.

Is there one out there? I'm in Vancouver.

Ive notice them from time to time on craigslist, although I couldnt tell ya what engines sizes they all had.

 

Yes, everyone I've seen in the last few years had a V8. I'm really after a six, but in the end, it doesn't matter that much as I will drive it very little.

I don't know of any. Doesn't seem to be alot of them around that are up for sale. If I found one I would probably keep it if my wife would allow.

I don't think you are going to have alot of luck finding a 3/4 ton with the 300-I6.
These truck's are very heavy,and alot people mistakenly think that a 6cyl would be too small.
My '76 3/4 ton 4x4 came stock with the 360 in it(boat anchor).
I put a 300-I6 in my truck,and love it!
If you really want a 300,you will prolly have to put one in yourself.

 

Gentlemen - I think you are right! I have a '76 F250 camperspecial with a 460 which is a much more common beast but want the 4WD. I could do an engine swap but must admit I'm getting a bit lazy...
There is one (v8) for $2700 in Maple Ridge I have yet to see. Still, please keep me in the back of your mind if you see an example for sale.

Zip: Your lady would be amazed at the level of maturity you have achieved if you found such a vehicle and then told her you were giving it to an old man in Vancouver - can you imagine the love and adoration in her eyes?
