68-76 F250 4x4 c6 tail shaft
#2
This is weird, because I too have the same problem. I just busted the tranny case in my 75 F250 4x (the one in my sig), today and was fixing to research it.
So can anybody clarify what I might be able to use for a tranny? Do I need to look for a 2wd tranny and swap tailshaft assemblies or get a 4wd tranny and add my tailshaft assembly?
PS, Thanks Tex for bringing it up!

You can use a 2wd tranny, but the tailshaft won't have the mounting hole setup for the 4x4 shifter. I've seen where guys have just used the 2wd tranny along with it's 2wd tailshaft and just make a bracket for the shifter. You'd have to get a short driveshaft with a slipyoke made. If you can find a 4x4 tailshaft, you should be able to swap them out and go from there.

Yeah, I know about the differences according to which motor you have, (351m/400,460, or 302,300, or FE, but since my high boy tranny is similiar to a 2wd tranny, except for the shifter on the side, I thought that it might just be a tailshaft swap thing if I find one. Or, do I look for a 4wd tranny like the married 4wd trucks use, and put my tailshaft on?
