2007 vs 2006 Expedition

The 6-speed transmission is a MAJOR upgrade in my opinion, especially if you tow anything with the truck. I can tow my 5000 pound travel trailer in 6th and 5th with an occasional drop to 4th and rarely to 3d. I know someone with an '06 4-speed and his truck will sometimes drop to 2d gear while I'm still in 4th. The 6-speed is much smoother all around. I understand the '09 gearbox is even nicer!
The very low 1st gear makes towing or starting on steep grades very nice.
Here's the rpm (calculated), gear ratios and gears at 65 mph (not sure how the forum will format this). 3.73 axles.
6 speed
IV speed
1800 0.69 6
1826 0.7 IV
2243 0.86 5
2609 1 III
2974 1.14 4
3965 1.52 3
4043 1.55 II
6104 2.34 2
6470 2.48 I
10878 4.17 1
