Hey Joe and/or Dave...

Hey guys... I posted this question in the "test" forum but haven't got a response yet. I notice both of you guys have a link in your signature. How did you pull that off? It won't let me use the url bbcode. I don't think this something that only supporters can do because "sewerat" has one in his sig.

See post #12 here:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/56...ignatures.html

Any hints on how I can pull this off?

Testing BB code in your post with the above link.

HTML in posts and signatures

Thanks!
Jason

Mine is typed in BB code.

What is the link you are trying to list?
What do you want the link to be listed as?

I can paste this link,
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...d-or-dave.html

Or I can make it look like this.

Hey Joe and/or Dave...

I edited your link above to look like this.

HTML in posts and signatures

You are very close to BB code, but have the link outside the second bracket.
Here is what I see if I go to edit your post.

]URL="https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/562938-html-in-posts-and-signatures.html"]https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/562938-html-in-posts-and-signatures.html [/URL[

I reversed the front and rear brackets to get it to display as it is typed in your post.

]URL="https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/562938-html-in-posts-and-signatures.html"]HTML in posts and signatures[/URL[ is what it should look like to display as my edited version does.

I reversed the front and rear brackets to get it to display as it should be typed to be a link that has words other than the link displayed.

I edited the link in your first post just to make sure it would work.

In my sig where it says "2004 F250 XLT Sport CC, 5.4L, 4.10LS" I want to make that a link that links to this page:

2004 F250

And maybe even make the picture a link too.

When I try the bbcode in my sig like you listed below it tells me this:

"1. BB code url is not allowed."

Maybe its just not enabled for my account...?

Thanks!
Jason

Are you typing it exactly like you did in the post when you edit you sig?

It displayed perfectly in the post.

Not sure, but I don't think membership has anything to do with it being enabled or not.

I can't see any of the code in your sig, that is something I do not have power to do.

Yeah, my bbcode attempt is not in my sig. I'm unable to put it there because it gives me that error message in my previous post. It won't update my sig with that in there so I have to just leave it as is...

Also, on my User CP page I just noticed this at the bottom:

<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0 itxtvisited="1"><THEAD itxtvisited="1"><TR itxtvisited="1"><TD class=tcat itxtvisited="1">Signature Permissions </TD></TR></THEAD><TBODY id=collapseobj_sigperms itxtvisited="1"><TR itxtvisited="1"><TD class=alt1 itxtvisited="1"><TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=0 border=0 itxtvisited="1"><TBODY itxtvisited="1"><TR itxtvisited="1"><TD class=smallfont style="PADDING-RIGHT: 10px" vAlign=top noWrap itxtvisited="1">Allow Basic BBCode Yes

All of mine are yes except, "Allow HTML BBCode" which is no.

I may have to try HTML again.

Glad you could help Joe. LMAO

I think the supporter badge may be part of the difference.
I also think my moderator position may have also have something to do with what I have enabled when I look at mine.

I have been a moderator for so long, I don't remember what I could and could not do before that, and that was a couple vBulletin upgrades and an ownership change ago anyway.
