Technical question from the desert

Sorry i haven't made it to jakes or anything lately, currently hanging out in the sand for a few months.

And now for the question:
I'm looking at buying a supercharger for my truck. Is there anything I need to do with the heads or anything for the 5.4 when I put this on?

The only thing I know for our trucks would be to swap in the top end of a lightning motor and get the CPU

I'd say you have a lot of research ahead to find out the info on this and its not going to be a simple swap. I agree with Ryan you will probably need to change the upper end but I've heard of people not doing that. Do a search in the forums your likely to find a thread about it

Thanks for the help guys. Just something I was looking at doing and didn't know how much was really involved in the swap with the stock parts.

And no george, still same o truck. Just improving slowly, but i also got 36" military issue humvee tires. And i dropped $8000 on it to pay it off.

Don't forget about the crank shaft as well. They don't like the extra power the supercharger puts into the motor. You better off finding a stock lightning motor and CPU and just swapping it in. I know I guy that did it in his SD Let me know is you want his addy so you can chat.

Depending on how much power you want to make,,ported heads and better cams will make some good power. But are not needed for the install of a supercharger.

The best kit that I have found is to put a Lightning/Harley intake assembly on your 5.4

Then you will need most of the parts on this list....good guy to deal with and very helpful with info!

You will also need a tune for the computer to make it all work.
Just let me know if you need more info.
