front axle nut torque specs?

I have a 2006 2wd f-150. The right front wheel bearing went out and I just replaced the rotor assembly. Since it has the sealed bearings pressed into the rotor and upon removal I realized that the nut was much much tighter than I thought it should be, I want to know the correct torque setting for putting it back on. The part is not cheap and the Ford dealership won't tell me. Does any one here know or have a manual?

Thanks,
Chris

Oh well, I appreciated your response. I'm really becoming irritated with the latest developments in technology. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Thanks again,
Chris

It is pretty high for a 2wd.

Installation
  1. Position the brake disc on the spindle.
  1. NOTE: Tighten the spindle nut to the specified torque. Rotate the disc counterclockwise 5 rotations and then recheck the torque.
    Install a new spindle nut.
    • Tighten to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
  1. Install the spindle nut retainer and a new cotter pin.
  1. Position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly and install 2 new bolts.
    • Tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
  1. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to Section 204-04.

You're not re-using the spindle nut, are you? It's a one use item.

2wd is quite high for spindle nut . Nut One time use only , 295 foot pounds . I have a 300 pound wrench but there is a way to do it by using the length of the bar you are using . It is very important to get it close .
Threads are stretched to yield point if nut fails your wheel could come off .
