Who is pulling a 20' - 24' enclosed trailer?

Is anyone on here pulling a 20' to 24' enclosed trailer? I am lookig into stepping up from my 20' open trailer for my race car to give a little added security while out of town on race weekends. Total weight would be around 7,800 lbs and I plan on using an equlizer weight dist./sway set up.

I pull a 30ft camper behind my expy. It has to work a little more than my super duty. My brother used it to pull his race trailer (16ft v-nose) before and said it did alright. That is good see you are going to use an equalizer. You probably don't really need it but its definately a good thought.

I don't think I'd sweat the 33 foot, the long wheel helps a great deal to prevent the tail from wagging the dog. Also keep in mind for just rated the same drivetrain (engine and trans) to 17K lbs on the new f-150 and the rear ring set on the expedition is 9.75 just like the f-150s. I've personally towed at 20K combined without issues but that was on a EL 4x4 with a 18" flat bed trailer and the weight was just machine bucket so there was no wind resistance or extreme length.

I agree I have had a lot of trucks before this, but this pulls very nice. Concidering this has the smallest engine of all of my past trucks it pulls strong.

Tim I agree with you, while the engine maybe the smallest, it's 4 drive cogs that really make this run great. 4 gears and double overdrive works great in my opinion. I can't wait to see what this is like with the new 390 ft lbs of torque they are going to in 09.

The transmission is a 6-speed, not 4.

The top two are geared up (AKA overdrive) but OD is not separate like it was 40 years ago when it could be switched on/off in any gear.

Torque is king.

That is what I said, 4 power gears and double over drive (4+2=6).
